hmm, you really shouldn't need that...
Actually, when I tried to run it it said I needed to have java development kit 1.5.0, and when I pressed 'ok' it took me to java.com's download page.

Can anyone post a reasonably easy-to-understand tutorial of processing? The one given on the website just goes over my head.
I'll write a simple one up as soon as I get a chance (remind me to stop putting off maths homework). What kind of aspects of processing do you want to know more about? General programming, the processing languauge in particular or setting up and using the development enviroment.

probably just the basics. Once I know the basics, it is really easy for me to learn everything else. That's what happened when I tried to learn HTML. Once I learned the basics, it was easy.
Thanks

I mean, how much programming have you done before, have you ever used a programming language (HTML doesn't count, it's a markup language) or is it just the structure of the programs that confuse you?

Hmm, halfway through writing the tutorial, I've got a bit of a crisis of faith. There's not really much I can say which cant more easily be gained from looking at the examples included with the IDE or by looking at the reference on the processing website.

If you want I could write a programming tutorial, how variables work and such forth, but if you know that then processing should be a doddle to pick up.

It's hard to say. If you can just post the tutorial that you've done so far that should be great. I guess it's the actual code that I want to learn, and no, I haven't done any type of programming before.

Right, the competition is now officially over, so you should have your entries in by the end of the week (the 12th). If you need more time, let me know and you might be able to get a couple of days. Also, if you need somewhere to host the game, then let me know.
