SMF Recommendations

I started using SMF on one of my domains, any suggestions on any mods to get or anything I should do on it?

Get the karma mod that we have and the shoutbox at the top.

Look for a nice theme too, that is crucial.

Most important thing is to understand html/php so you install these things easily and make you own edits. For example I added the extra coloured buttons at the top (and also made the invite friends function - if you haven't already used it you should) and completely redesigned the header.

Thanks for the reccomendations, I found a theme I liked and I'm a experienced with HTML, and a little PHP, mind telling me which file I should edit to add my own things, like the buttons and your invite friend function, I'm guessing at directly editing the 'index.php' but not really sure.

No you need to edit the theme template files. e.g. index.template.php.
